Arno is giving 1 day clinics at my local gym. Has anyone taken his class? Do you think a day with him (and only 5 other people) is worth $95.

I haven't finished the book yet, and with my current finances it wouldn't be possible for me to spend that money on a luxury such as the clinic you described, but yeah, it sounds worth it. Is it worth it to you, though? That's the $95 question. In perspective, a daylong class with one of the guides from my gym runs between $75 and $100 depending on how many people are taking it.

A selfish part of me would like for you to take it so you can let us all know how it goes.

If you can afford the $95, I think it will be money well spent. I took the 2-day WWclass from him last year and thought it was worth every penny.

What did you learn in the class? Will a one day clinic be enough time to learn and practice? I am unemployed, so money is an issue. I don't want to miss a great opportunity. I just want to be sure it is money well spent.

The WW 2-day is basically the book but you are actually working with Arno on the processes. As far as a 1 vs 2 day class. You will probably just get a more overall view rather than in-depth. He will probably focus a lot on falling in the class - learning that it is ok to fall and assessing the risks associated with it.

As far as missing an opportunity - I think missing a chance to actually work with Arno is a missed opportunity - he's a great person to work with. He is very good at giving feedback and he never talks down to you or makes you feel bad about making mistakes. He realizes that this is a learning process for all of us.

jen is absolutely 3,000 percent correct - it is worth every single
cent.

dale and me (lou) took the 2 day class also - and both of us
have transformed in mind, body, and spirit..........yes - it touches
on everything from ego to fear and what drives it and causes it
and how to deal with it.

sometimes, things have a far greater value than just money - this
IS one of those things - you reap the rewards for the rest of your
life.

i can guarantee that. LOU

Hello Everyone, this is arno.
Here's some info that may help you decide whether or not to attend my 1-day clinics, which I call the Espresso course because it is very "concentrated."
Next Thursday I'm giving a presentation at Neptune Mountaineering in Boulder. The following weekend I'm teaching two of these Espresso courses, one on sat and one on sun.

What you'll learn:
Developing the Witness position, which allows you to have better self-observation skills. This is crucial for being able to recognize limiting self-talk, especially when you are in the risk zone [above your pro, etc.].
Centering yourself with breathing so you are better able to process yourself through the chaos while climbing.
Assessing risks and fall consequences. We'll also do some practice falling.
Setting a powerful intention to focus forward into the climbing process.
Practicing staying with that intention when the limting talk rushes in.
We'll essentially be applying all the warrior processes, from preparation, transition, to action on a challenging climb.

If you have specific questions or other comments, please post it and I'll do my best to answer.
thanks, arno

Arno,

Thanks for the details. One of the reasons I had hesitated to sign up was becasue no one at the Rock Club could give me any details about the class content. I actually decided to give it a try anyway, and I signed up last week.

See you next Saturday.
