Anyone out there who can let us know what's up after the fires? Did it burn? Is it open for climbing? Thanks... :?:

This thread was in the Access Issues & Closures Forum.

I seem to recall seeing another one also. Anyway, it sounds like Woodson itself was untouched.

Woodson was left COMPLETELY unscathed. I hiked the trail and did a few boulder problems out there last weekend. The fire made it to the base of South Mt Woodson where the "glue ups" and "Mt. Everest" are located. I wouldn't trust the preplaced draws at the glueups anymore from where it looked like the fire hit.

Looks like all the houses were saved - a bunch of houses surrounded by a charred and barren landscape, but standing. Woodson wasn't touched.

On the flip side, the fire cleared out more brush than San Diego has ever been rid of, and in driving to Woodson today I nearly shat myself looking at all the easy to get to boulders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The main mountain is fine but the K2 and the Everest boulders ect. on the south mountain look pretty burned.
