Have you ever wondered why orange's photos always stay rated high? I just thought I'd give my two cents worth here. There are a lot of great pics on this site-but after a while, a close-up of a climber grimacing on a crux move gets kind of old. Orange's photos usually show a broader view of the cliff so you get a sense of the true environment that the climber is in. The picture linked here is great because you get a true feeling of what the climber is experiencing. Don't get me wrong-there are some great 'grimace' photos by a lot of photographers on this site (Spike especially) but there is something about seeing the "whole" picture. What do you think?

I agree .. I set this one as my background http://www.rockclimbing.com/photos.php?Action=ListPhoto&PhotoID=2811

but it seems that others don't share my opinoin. the composition is excellent showing great rock and the challenges that the climber overcame to get there. The only thing I can see that would inprove the photo would be a little bit sharper focus on the climber. Im sure that could be fixed in PhotoShop.

I agree too, and I like his pictures also because there large and mostly the colours are very good. (Although orangeoverhang can't really choose the colour of a rock, he's just very lucky with the orange crags of the Grampians )

I don't want to steal anyone's thunder here, I just want to recognize some of the great photos and photographers on here. you guys keep me motivated to get better. I check the photos eveyrday or often as possible, and it take some big cajones to post your stuff up here for pubic judgement.

OrangeOverhang, Spike, SaltSpringer, JMLangford, GreatGarbonzo (sp?), and anyone else I missed. THANKS EVERYONE and keep it up!!

He could be a pro, if he's not already. His shots make me want to climb each Route he's shot. His shots deserve to be rated among the highest.

As an aside, some of his pics are done by other people. the ones he's climbing usually list who the photgrapher is.
