How is the climbing there? I have never been, but have heard mixed feedback. Sounds like a great comp though! I will probably go to support the place.

the climbing is textured granite and you should show up with your "A" game of footwork. Some people dont like it cause they get their butts kicked. You actually have to rock climb. The bottom line is that this is a benefit to help save a cool climbing area. This could easily be any bouldering area in the U.S. and we need to show our support to save this area. They are currently blasting boulders in the lake area. We have tons of sponsors and two beer sponsors... need I say more.

Check out www.seclimbers.com There should be a Boat Rock forum and info to donate $$$ to help "float the Boat." Brad McLeod is in charge of Boat Rock fundraising.

In reply to: logistically, how will the parking situation work for this comp? also what's this i hear about a party the night before? rumor? Parking will be down the street somewhere (I can't remember where) and shuttles to take you to the park. As for a party...I'm not sure.

parking is less than .5 miles away at sandtown community center. high country will have shuttles, but most climbers could probably walk that far. haha.

The parking is located at 5320 Campbellton Road at the Sandtown Gymnasium. All competitors will get a package explaining the parking and shuttle. There is a party on Friday nite at the Concourse Athletic Club. More info will be posted on www.seclimbers.org this week. The comp will be bigger and better this year with more sponsors, more cash and 2 beer sponsors. see you there.
