Does anyone think it is possible for someone who has never walked on a slackline before to onsight a proper line? Meaning walk up to it, stand up first go and walk the length. I would be way impressed and kinda doubt it, but there are a lot of mutants in this world.

some people have great balance, like gymnasts, figure skaters, dancers...
they should be able to do it.

Hey Jello,
Did the person you saw walk a line on their first day, do it on the very first time they set foot on the line? Just curious and if they did, I am totally amazed.

No Chili, He was very persistant and by the end of the day he walked the entire 70'!
I find that amazing enough!! Not the easiest length either.

Still have not seen a beginner onsight a line. I can imagine it if they were some sort of serious Jackie Chan or circus performer type. Even then I'd expect it to take Jackie maybe two or three tries ;)
But I have seen a beginner who was a ex-gymnast and yoga instructor learn to walk a line in a day AND hold difficult yoga poses on the line in the same day (I still can't hold my leg straight, higher than my head with the same hand and balance on the line for five breaths).

The term "onsight" has been used as a term in slacklining. For example, if one were to do the lost arrow spire gap first try, with no prior beta or having seen anyone else do it, that would be an "onsight". Same goes for the Rostrum or any other significant span. It seems a bit silly thought when it comes down to it. " Joe Blow onsighted the 20' line at the park the other day". Seems a little up in the air as far as being worth spraying about. Maybe thats the issue. If your gonna spray, then the term may be relevant. If your Slacklining because you love it, and its all for yourself, who really cares about the "onsight" other than you. I'll quit before this becomes an ethics issue.
