OK, heres my sob story: I'm in Iraq with no way to train. yeah I know, poor planning, as my rock rings collect dust at home. Theres no way to get these so I'm looking to pick up an inexpensive hangboard. Anyone got one for sale or willing to hook me up on a deal?

Just do mad crazy crunches and pushups, in addition to pullups on a bar or doorframe when you can. It's easy to get over-enthusiastic with hangboard and hurt yourself if there's no climbing around. I did exactly that. Get strong in the rest of your body, come back, and send like a fiend. Great luck and godspeed.

Rock Rings suck for training finger strength. Clearly, the man needs an actual hangboard. Are hangboards really too expensive? You can get a pretty sweet one for around $75. I've been training on the Nicros Nexgen board and find it very helpful; it's $74.95. It's seems to me the crux would be getting the hangboard sent to you in Iraq. Would that be very difficult and/or expensive? Permission to expand on your sob story granted.

Unfortunately I cannot get my rock rings sent out(long story..) I'm trying to find a good deal on a lightly used one or discounted new(if possible) hopefully spending about $50.00 If nothing pans out, I'll end up ordering one. My mailing addres has a ZIP code so its considered domestic postage. But only USPS delivers here.

cheap holds dot com has a great hangboard for 30 bucks, its not huge, but has enough variety. My friend was the UAE with the ar farce all summer and ripped a tendon the first week with rock rings. My cousin is in mosul, where are you? REI has the new Franklin power station 3 on for $40 if I didn't already have the cheap holds one I would buy that one. I would actually sell my cheap holds board for $15 bucks (plus shipping) if your interested.

Thanks guys, I checked out cheapholds.com. Looks pretty good! I'll probably end up with either of them, still decided. BTW, I'm in the SE.

My son won a Franklin hangboard at a bouldering comp, and he already has one, so he'd like to sell it. There are five holds across, drilled on to metal plates, and are interchangeable so you can make up your own sequence; there are 2 pockets, 2 jugs and a one hold that has different pinches and 2 crimps, each with 3 ledges. We haven't been able to find anything similar on the internet. Email me if you are interested.
