Howdy all. Back for Natal. went to go and check out the climbing wall at the Gateway mall in Umhlanga in Durban. All I can say is that it was impressive looking but a little to easy, not much of a challenge at all. Rock on

What height is the wall? And what grade of routes have they got? Irie Rastalizard

It is 24 metres high to the top. The grade is about a 16 maybe 17 at a push for the hardest one. I did not bother to ask them what they thought they had graded it at. It is a little difficult to tell what any grade is because each climb is different and each climbers grading of a climb differs to what he feels it is to his capabilities. i have climbed climbs graded at 20 but felt as though it was a 21-22 and sometimes it has felt a 18-19. It seems as though they cater more for the general public not for climbers as such, when I got to the top I was a little dissappointed beacause I didn't really have much of a challenge. Still it does look impressive. Rock on
