Howdy all.
Back for Natal. went to go and check out the climbing wall at the Gateway mall in Umhlanga in Durban. All I can say is that it was impressive looking but a little to easy, not much of a challenge at all.

What height is the wall?
And what grade of routes have they got?

It is 24 metres high to the top. The grade is about a 16 maybe 17 at a push for the hardest one. I did not bother to ask them what they thought they had graded it at. It is a little difficult to tell what any grade is because each climb is different and each climbers grading of a climb differs to what he feels it is to his capabilities. i have climbed climbs graded at 20 but felt as though it was a 21-22 and sometimes it has felt a 18-19. It seems as though they cater more for the general public not for climbers as such, when I got to the top I was a little dissappointed beacause I didn't really have much of a challenge. Still it does look impressive.
