Hi Ulfi, the area you are want some info (Suche skaly) is a small location not far away from city Liberec in north of Czech rep. From Prague only 1 hour by highway to reach. There are many routes to climb, from the easiest ones to the ones I do not even dream of yet. Because it is sand, but a very hard one, anyhow is it forbiden to use almost everthing and the climbing season is only in 7 months long. From what I know, it is not alowed to camp right there but a 2km away you can. In village called Mala skala where the river Jizera runs by. And from there is an another place where you can climb, called Pantheon. In almost any climbstore in Liberec, Jablonec nad Nisou or Turnov is it possibile to buy climb guide book for Suche skaly. So if you need more info let me know. Jan

I climbed in Suche Skaley once with my wife and her friend. There's a good guide book for the cliffs that you can get at any Hudy sport store. I seem to have misplaced my copy. In any case, bring an extra static rope to supplement the ring anchors. People were toproping on single ring anchors of unknown strength (they are all hand made and rusted). I supplemented those with slings. Of course to put this old iron hardware in perspective, people are still rappelling the Cable's route on Long's Peak and those bolts are about the same age. My favorite route I did there is right in front of the area kiosk. It's the overhanging wall people practice rappelling on. Very cool. Check out the guidebook for Skaley Na Muzskem as well. More routes and a bigger area.
