i dont like Denali, the only reason i'd ever climb it would be if I had done 6 summits and needed 1 more wouldny you rather do lesser, yet greater peak? like hunter, that sees much fewer asents. I am Dr. Jumar,(b> I belive Hunter is better then Denali ______________________ Jug with Jumars Jeremy

Sorry, I mean that climbing season in Denali NP opens, and yes, Hunter (Moonflower) and Foraker (Infinite Spur, etc.) aare much better and less crowded. Better yet, spend two weeks in Ruth Gorge and hit some El Cap size walls in an incredible setting. Or really head out and do some first ascents in the Chugach or St. Elias Ranges...some 10,000 to 14,000 foot peaks still waiting for a first ascent. Arrigetch Peaks also have tons of unclimbed Bugaboo size walls and summits waiting too. There is too much to list, still working on the D-base for here...come on up and give it a try!!!

I'm going to Denali next year and definately think it is worth climbing despite the other beautiful moutains found in alaska. Denali has many routes that are not as crowded as the West Butress which sees around 95 percent of all climbers!

One of my friends climbed the West Butress last year and he hated it. he said it was "way crowed." I'm hoping my parents will fund, or at least permit my Island Peak trek for next year. If it's a go, I should be on Ama Dablam that spring then Cho Oyu the following fall...My hopes are up I am Dr. Jumar, I belive!! "Jug with Jumars" Jeremy
