Headed to Buffalo between xmas and new years any recomendations on indoor climbing in the area? Not into ice climbing so figure outdoor is out that time of year. If that's not the case if there's some outdoor that might be good this time of year let me know. thanks

There is an indoor climbing gym in North Tonawanda called Niagra Climbing Center, its ok but nothing big. It is the only one in the area. Some really good bouldering is at the Niagra Glen.

1. Don't know about NCC, but Galyan's is awful. 2. The routes database at RC.com for the Glen is poor. Go to http://www.glenbouldering.com for much better beta/topo. 3. As we all know, Erie/Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse are infamous (within our own little Western NY world) for having crazy weather between September and May. This includes 70 and sunny in February (once) as well as 3-7 feet of snow over two days in March (many times). The Glen is prime at temps of 30-65 degrees and not rainy (though many overhanging problems are protected from rain, I think). 4. If there is a day that fits that description between now and January 9th, I will be there. 5. The Glen is only bouldering. 6. That is all.

The website seems to assume that one knows where Niagra Glen is I can't find an over view map or directions to get there, the only thing I can tell from the map is that it's near a river. Not sure the weather will make it do able but if it does it would be nice to give it a climb. Was in NYC in May and tried to climb at the Gunks but the weather wasn't with me then either. Help a west coast guy out and give me an idea where this stuff is as I'll be lucky if I find Niagra Falls.
