How are you putting these things on for free (or for as little as $5?)?? I am definitely interested....although the one I really want is the avalanche one, but I can't get a car ride up there soon enough. Oh well, I may be up for the third one.......what kind of climbing are we talking for $5?

It's a climbing gym, so gym-type climbing.

BLCC (Ben Lomond Climbing Center) is a medium sized indoor climbing gym (about 4000 sq ft.) that survives off of those climbers and groups that pay the usual admission to come in and climb. One of our goals is to provide affordable intro classes to those interested in climbing and related activities. Sometimes we can make these classes free due to very generous people. For instance, Dr. Sohl, the director of search and rescue for the Ogden area of the Wasatch mtns., taught the avalanche class without any charge. The BLCC views this as important community service so we discount our prices on these nights to draw more people (it also provides us customers).
The avalanche class was last night and we had quite a good turn out (20+ people). We hope to see everyone next Thurs at 7pm when we have our beacon search class.
