This is probally a bad question, but what exactly is slacklining?! I cant find it in the "climbing Terms" area. OK, all you 5.14 guys, eat your hearts out laughing! I just want to know. :oops:

Slacklining is the term used to describe a type of "tight-rope walking", where in this case the rope is usually flat webbing and the line can be anywhere from super loose (hence the "slack") to super tight. Also, only your arms are used for balance; no poles.

nah man...its funny you say that because it actually has nothing to do with how well you climb...5.14 doesnt mean they can slackline

slacklining is just another silly but highly addictive activity that climbers happen to do that focuses on your balance

probably the best way to describe it to someone who has never seen it is like tightrope walking but on a loose or "slack" line of nylon webbing

also go through the slacklining forum to learn more...theres tons more to it then jsut riggin up a line in your yard and walkin from point A to point B...360s, backflips, cartwheels, sit starts...
