is there an updated guidebook for horse flats? the only one i know of is socal bouldering guide, which seems sorta outdated (especially since all the ratings are in the B or yds systems).

I think Rock & Ice (or was it Climbing?) did something on Horse Flats a couple years ago. I remember it having some areas/climbs that were not in the So. Cal. Bouldering book. You should be able to use your library to find the article, collegekid.

There's a book called Five Star Bouldering I believe. Not 100% on the title but the book definitely exists. I was just looking at it yesterday. It is the most current guide for horse flats and a few other areas around So Cal. It has much better info on horse flats than both the So cal bouldering book and the rock and ice topo, which I also have. you can get the book at the REI in Northridge for sure. They have multiple copies. here we go: http://5starbouldering.com/ I saw on your profile that you live in SD, I think the first time I saw this book for sale was actually in a san diego gym, maybe you can lucky and pick one up down there.
