Hi all- due to an injury I sustained as a young child..I have no tendon connected to the tip of my right ring finger. The finger stays straight unless my pinky and middle finger bend it down. So---my question is--- would taping it to one of those fingers help with my grip? I feel a difference in the 2 hands and it seems like taping it to my middle finger may help. Any ideas?

gpmonkey,
It sounds as if you have no grip in that finger as it is now, while taping it to another finger won't gain any gripping strength,it will get that pesky finger out of harms way.If there is any grip there it would , more than likely, be enhanced by taping it.Try it on something easy and see how it works for you, only you know how well it helps.

I have had a similar problem with that same finger. Had an injury where I had no strength in that finger. Taping it to the middle one helped until it healed. Try it out.

Taping it wont actually help. All your doing is just throwing that finger into the motions of the rest of the fingers you taped it to. Your not actually utilizing that fingers strength simply because there is no tendon. I think the best advice is to train your other fingers to make up for that one.
