I just saw in my new "mountain gear" catalog that the 5-10's, V-10 climbing shoe has the new stealth FH rubber. they're claiming it's 20% stickier than stealth c-4 rubber. I've scanned the internet for info and found none. Does anyone have any info on this new rubber?

Nope... but in my country i reckon the V-10s are selling like hot cakes. Especially with the newbies. Aneway if you relly can't find info bout it on the net, why don't you ask your nearest dealer(s) selling the V-10s. I reckon they should know at least something.

Here is some info I got from Red rock Resole when I ask about getting it on my shoes. Thank you for your note. FYI, here's the recent exchange I had with Five Ten about the new rubber. You might want to direct your questions to Mark at Five Ten? Jules ============================================================ (begin forwarded) Hello Jules, Stealth Rubber does have a new rubber it is the 4.2 high friction. 4.2 HF is 20% stickier but wears 20% faster. It is being used on the Five Ten Dragon, and the V10, unfortunately we will not be selling it to our resolers at this time. As soon as we start selling the rubber in sheets I will notify you A.S.A.P. Climb on, Resole on Mark

A friend told me that the new c-5 rubber is worse than the c-4. It wears out quicker and Is Not stickier. This is just second hand information and I have no research to back me up, but that is what i heard.

I was told by an excellent climber who was working at an outfitter, that the C5 rubber was not as good C4. He said that is was just his personal opinion but he really felt that C5 was sort of "slimy" and tended to grease off of holds. The outfitter had shoes in stock with both kinds of rubber, so this wasn't a sales trick to get me to buy different shoes. I don't know if the C5 is the same as the HF rubber or not. I'm not sure its the same, this is supposed to be very new and I've only seen it refered to as HF, not c4. Les
