garret,

I agree with the previous sugestion besides the part about going to a gym first. In my opinion gyms are a nessecary evil when it's to cold to be outside. The people that I have taken outside that did not climb inside first picked up fewer bad habits and developed better technique faster. They were also more confident in their gear than those who had climbed indoors first. I believe the key is to find a good partner for outdoor climbing who is patient and who can lead a couple levels above what you are used to climbing so you are able to push yourself.

Sounds like your about my level, i have climbed before but have a lot of learning to go, just stay with things and enjoy what you do, climb your style! RIGHT ON!

another way to learn is just online, browse for some websights on climbin technique...theres a bunch of great ones out there just kinda hard to find sometiems
