Last Thurs. I had a toenail removed (ouch) and now I'm not going to be able to climb for about 2 weeks. For the full account see thread: The saga of my mutant toe: http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=51202 Not only that, but it is not comfortable to walk, wear shoes, etc. I am not one to sit on the couch for too long. I am not a very happy climber right now!!! What does a climber do other than read and hang from the finger board. I think I may lose my mind!!!

Climb with only one foot. If you are desperate enough it will calm your nerves.

In reply to: Take it like the rest of us who cant climb during these cold months. Two weeks aint bad, who knows when the weather will warm up and ill be able to climb again!!! It's cold here, too. But normally I have the option of going to the gym. The problem is that I can't replace it with another active activity because it hurts to walk. So what is an active person to do when forced to sit on her butt???

In reply to: Climb with only one foot. If you are desperate enough it will calm your nerves. This is actually a good idea. That's what I did when I fractured my foot - I climbed one-legged. It looked really funny, but it built up my arm strength heaps. I didn't do any leading, just top-roping and just inside the gym.

Tape up and climb anyway. It's doable. :)
