Like I said, Chris, any weekend after V-day, if the weather is fine I'd definitely be up for it. K.

Funny you should ask, I am writing one right now. In short, it was AWESOME. I felt like I died and went to heaven. it was a sport climber's paradise. Where else can you climb 10+ pitches of very safely bolted moderate climbs? Check the photos that I posted.

Chris, I spent a lot of time at Haycock this fall as you can see in my pics, and I gotta say its spectacular bouldering there. I'm definetly game whenever you wanna go, but I'd highly reccomend waiting for the ground to clear up a bit, as it is a treacherous place to navigate. Just lemme know. Gail, looks like you guys had an incredible time!! Can't wait for the TR <=glen=>

Thanks Glen, will keep that in mind. Randy always mentioned to me I should go there when I get a chance to climb. Maybe I'll go to EMS and buy a guidebook.

I don't know if you can buy the guidebook at EMS, but you can definetly get it off of Newenglandbouldering.com. I'd highly reccommend getting the book, but honestly you'll probably still get lost. I'd also seriously reccommend going there with someone who's been there before, albeit myself or not. Good luck! <=glen=>

i am hoping the rain and above freezing temps may lead to some snow free topouts at haycock by next week. thats if we dont get any more snow than whats already on the ground. so i am on a wait and see basis for haycock. if the conditions come together, pm, mail or post here and i'd be happy to show anyone around.

Is anyone up for some semi cold weather bouldering on Tuesday afternoon at South Mountain Boulders a.k.a. Bauer Rock? The weather looks like it's gonna be in the 40's and I would like to take advantage of it. You can pm me on here or call me at 610-791-5571 and ask for Chris S. I'll have class till 11:45 or so and I'd be able to get to the Rocks around 12 ish providing I do not get lost. (I can see the rocks from my college so it can't be that far)

In reply to: ahhhhh...that sharp rock on pretty-boy-virgin-skin-haven't-climbed-since-November... I'll pass! I understand Randy. The rock is super frictionlicious but it will scrape layers of skin right off your hands if they aren't tough enough. Ask kimmyt. And plus the drive you have isn't worth it. We will hit up the Gunks soon or later. (I hope) Whether or not I find someone, I plan on going. I need rock. It's going to be 50 degrees or so tomorrow. I cannot pass up the chance. I manily want to get a look at the area and see what could use a good cleaning.

The weather looks to be allowing this thread to finally lead to some actual outdoor climbing. If anyone is up for it, I'd like to get a group together for next weekend at Haycock. It's a long weekend for me, so sat, sun and/or monday is good for me. I am planning on keeping an eye on the weather before setting a day, but I think by wed. it should be close enough to call. I have a guidebook, a pretty good knowlwge of the area, and a car coming up from Philly, anyone interested? mattcurtius@hotmail.com

i was planning on going to haycock, but scubasnyder checked it out and said the rock is still covered with snow and ice. i guess i am just going to hit the boulders here in philly. if you have the scoop on anything else within day trip distance, let me know. if it has to be local, i can show anyone around wissahickon. i know of a few nice spots other than the usual livezy.
