I would like to do some bouldering/climbing this weekend (presidents day). What are the conditions at Ibex, Triassic, or any others nearby. I have heard that these can be quite comfortable during this time of year. What can I expect? I'm desperate, I need to get outside! I'm sick of being cooped up in the gym for so long. Any input, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I did Mexican crack in Little Cottonwood Saturday (valentines) Snowy approach, got cold belaying but climibing was fine. Best bet is still to head south..... Moab....StGeorge even better. Ibex would probably work if you get sun, and not much wind.

I was at Joe's Valley this time last year and it was beautiful. As long as it's not too snowy, it should be great.

In reply to: I was at Joe's Valley this time last year and it was beautiful. As long as it's not too snowy, it should be great. also note that we have alot (I MEAN ALOT) more snow this year than last and it has been colder. Just get on some ice. It is outstanding this year with flows forming all over the place.

I should be in Provo Canyon in July. Is there any available climbing that is close in Provo Canyon? Anything worth doing in the 5.8 to 5.10 grades?

Ibex was good last weekend, all the boulders are pretty much dry. If you don't have 4x4 i would not go across the lake bed, take the road that goes north of the lake bed and hugs the cliff...

I would say start your own thread on provo canyon, but I can tell you right now that unless you are swinging tools and wearing crampons, you will not find much to climb in Provo Canyon. American Fork Canyon isn't far and Rock Canyon as some good stuff. So good, it may be quaried away and shipped to Las Vegas as landscaping rock by this summer.
