One of the 50 classic climbs in North America, Stairway to Heaven, WI4, is up the road in Eureka. There are lots of other great multipitch ice climbs in that area. There's some good ice climbing in Cascade Canyon about half an hour from Durango.

If you're into winter mountaineering, there are tons of climbs. The Guardian is the prize.

Golf Wall is good spot for winter/spring bolt clipping. Just ask around in some shops or the climbing gym and someone will tell you how to get there.
