Went bouldering here Friday last… saw what might have been a couple no trespassing signs 30 yards off the trail… later read on some NC climbing site that the owner is selling the land, and the real estate agent recommended “keep climbers off – they discourage potential buyers” PHuck. Another boulder garden lost? Anybody got additional 411?

Where is this place and how does one get there? Also what kind of climbing is available there? Funny, but I live in Charlotte but never heard of this place till now....

dozen or so granite boulders ranging in size from 5' to about 25'... easy to reach- 2 miles off the freeway (the rock is actually only 50 yards from 85- - - the traffic sounds detract a bit from the karma.. but the rock is hidden in the forest.... nobody but climbers ever go there.... couple of cracks.. .the classic is an obvious open book thingie that weighs in at V1 (i am fat, old and weak... so it feels 5.10c and crux is the top out so. .i've only TR'd it... but a quality collection of stones. worth saving if it is possibile. but doubt any climber is going to pony up the coin.... (my pockets are not just empty, they have holes in them....

The numerous "No Trespassing" signs are there for a reason. If you're interested in getting arrested and/or hurting chances for future access, then check it out. Otherwise, please stay away.

.......would not describe what I saw as “numerous no trespassing signs”. Me just a out-of-towner who had not been to these rocks in 6 months… been visiting for years … .no idea there was an access issue…. ……. one yellow sign about 30 yards away on the chain link fence to the southeast .... ONLY other yellow sign is maybe 20 yards off the trail in the other direction. No way I could read what they said. Not a very effective means for conveying the owner’s wishes, eh? was only by chance I web surfed later on and found the post on climb.nc or whatever….. What IS being done to secure access? Anything? Or is it wait and see if it sells (and then it’s toast for sure). If no sale- then renegotiate access? If you are a local, maybe post a sign to climbers at the parking saying “hey brothers, stay away awhile until we figure out what’s what”. Instead of being just another rc.com azzwipe talking smack from behind the safety of a computer screen.
