Hey DJ. Hey penny.

Just the right time for coffee here. Need a double espresso to keep me calm, my car's in for its MOT (roadworthiness certificate) and I'm paranoid that the mechanics'll get all imaginative and charge me a fortune.

Can't believe you guys are out of bed. It must be crazy early where you are.

Big love!

:D

It's never too early for coffee.

Or whatever else that can is advertising.

Had Thai food for the first time, last night... Total convert. Damn, that stuff is good.

Oh - and who the fvck is this tattooed_climber guy?? Geezuz. To paraphrase (and get it wrong) dookie: Oh Lord!

I've done a bad thing.

Before I knew that Janet was the ultimate whiny beeyatch incarnate, I told her where Peterskill was and waxed complimentary about it. I even took her climbing there, once.

Now, she's looking for a guide to teach her to set TR anchors.

You climb multipitch at the Gunks - but you climb TR at PK.

Tai starts flogging his own back with a cat-o-nine-tails...

In the words of Ed Harris in "The Rock": My God, what have I done?

Yeah me too. One of the girls at work has asked me to "show her how to rock climb" at an indoor TR venue. That's great and she's a nice girl, but she's 5'3" and about 110, and let's just say I'm a touch larger than that....which means I'll have to get one of my medium-sized friends along to help out. And oooh they'll be so pleased to spend the evening belaying gumbies. Ah well.

Morning all. Ah, come on now, belaying gumbies is not the worst thing in the world. Look at this way, we were all gumbies at one time. I was always thankful when someone with a ton more experience took me out climbing.

morning kids.
Well todays the day - Mike will be here around noon to get his stuff. (of course he didnt' ask me if I could leave work, just assumed).
Good riddance to the man I loved who turned into an asshole. Turns out he told our friend chad long ago that he was planning on ending this. The plot thickens. All I can do is be happy that this is happening now and not further down the road, after a marriage and kids or anything.

I might be going to Montana at the end of April! yahoo!
and then possibly Alaska this fall.... I'm so excited!

tradman - you don't really need to recruit someone else to help you with teaching - I learned how to climb from a guy that was easily 80lbs heavier than me, no problem what so ever.

dude, you dont' need anyone else, the woman I learnt to climb with (wannabaclimber) is 85 lbs lighter than me...just make sure she's clipped in to the anchor & you're good to go. this past weekend I gave my daughter Caitlin belay lessons using a aguy who out weighed her by 60 or 70 lbs...no probs.

they're not so worried about her going into orbit if I fall (let's face it we'll be playing on low-grade stuff, and I'd be dead of embarrassment before I hit the deck if I fell off an indoor 5+ anyway), they're worried about her ability to lower me off with an ATC. Or so they say.

Never mind, problem solved. Another beginner, who's about 5'10" is going to tag along, so he can share belay duties.

:?

I outweighed Rob by about 70 the first time he belayed me. Only minor problems.

The gym won't allow? What no floor anchors?

Abi, does Erica have caller ID? Maybe she knew it was you and she's PISSED!!
