So I'm leaving tomorrow for Moab with my mom. We'll be stying there for a week. Was looking forward to some great hiking and maybe a little climbing, but an untimely knee injury has put that possibility behind. I can walk pretty easily on flat ground, but stairs are downright painful.

So, how to spend a week? I'd say I can probably hike 1-2 miles on flat ground without too much trouble, but probably nothing more. Flat ground is key- becuase of the nature of the injury, any up or down is pretty unpleaseant. Where should we go, and what should we do? I know I won't get to do any climbing or put in the 15 mile day hikes I was hoping to do, but I don't want to surrender to a week of being a touron either. Any suggestions?!!!??!!!??? Places to visit, pretty cliffs to look at, easy hikes to do, etc.

Arches has quite a few easy hikes that you could do in a wheelchair.

Like they said, Arches is great and has some real easy walks. Moab is cool, even walking around town is fun. If your interested in Indian stuff there are some great petroglyphs near roads. Go to the Visitor center when you get there and grab all the free info you can find. There is more to do there than we can possibly tell ya. Have fun!

WAYYYYY TO Late I am sure.
Just if it comes up again.

There are many spots in moab that don't require full climbing.
I know I probably shouldn't share some of the Local hideouts.
If you know of a place called Power Dam. Its a nice little Cliff jumping area into some water holes that are a bit freakish ;).
Anyhow.. about 2 miles up from PowerDam there is a BEAUITFUL Place called LeftHand. Its a giant bowl of water with a waterfall running into it. ALL natural.
Its an easy hike. Pretty flat most the way cept about a mile in a half.
Or up at Moon Flower Canyon. CHeck out the indian Ladder and talk to some locals there for some other areas near Lesbin Valley.

If anyone is going to Moab and wants to hang with a local to show them some nice little areas. Just let me know.

*sorry for the delay. I joined here to late ;)*
