Hey Guys, I have been dying to get outside and do some climbing but am not too familiar with the area. I was wondering if there are any locals that are in need of a good belayer or spotter. I boulder at about v4 and lead 5-10s but its been a while since i have been on rope. Let me know if anybody wants to meet up for some climbing. I hated not being able to go climbing on a beautiful day like today.

Right now Mulkey and Rattler Gulch will be warm and accessible; with Saturday being at 50 degrees I think it will be a good day to climb some limestone. There is a gal (coworker) in Missoula that is chomping at the bit to do some climbing as well and would need a ride this way. Let me know!

Rattler should be okay, but I am not sure about the snow up Mulkey, you may want to be ready to walk that last mile to the crags. I've not been out to Mulkey this year but from past experience think that the snow/ice mix this time of year may make the drive difficult. Of course if you have 4 wheel you may make it. I've spent some prime climbing time digging out cars from that road! If you guys/gals get there, climb safe and have fun. :D Wish I could meet ya'll there but I'm on dad duty all weekend. Anybody want to get out next week sometime?

I do remember last March having to walk that last mile even with 4-wheel drive. I'll post a road report if I get out there. As far as the following week, I will be available the next Saturday as well.

Got down to Kooteani today and had a blast. First time outdoors since I broke my ankle last August. Have a good one this weekend. fred

Dang Ryan, don't you ever work? I am so jealous! Thanks for the road report; weather is not looking too promising this Saturday, but I'll head out there if its not raining even if its just to do laps. It's good to hear from you, I think last year about this time you were somewhere near devils tower? I will get you that girls phone number, she loves to climb, and shows exceptional potential. Me, I'm so buried in work there is no sneaking out during the week yet.

Hey I live in Bozeman now, but have lived in Missoula and love climbing up there. I have a motorcycle and would drive up there if you would like to climb. Kootenia is one of the better places that I would like to go. If you would rather come to the Bozone- I'd be game to go either place. I just need to find some people to climb. I have a big rack and can lead 5.11 bolts and 5.9 gear. send me mail if you want to go. crystalizedfear@yahoo.com
