It seems like the Bibler I-tent or the Integral Designs MK-1 Lite are the ultimate lightweight alpine tents. They appear to be nearly the same design, weight, size, etc. Other than the Integral Designs tent being $150 cheaper, is there any significant difference? Is Todd-tex better than ID's PTFE fabric? Anybody out there used both and have something to say on the matter? What about the new Marmot Up High? It weighs %25 more than the other two (an extra pound), but again is very similar.

I have only used one of the tents you mentioned, so I have nothing to compare it with. But I have had an I-Tent for about 5 years and have used it everywhere from the Utah desert to the South American Andes. It has been a really great tent.

Same as Benjo-- used a Bibler-I all over the lower 48 and except for the cost, I love how much it doesn't weigh.

I own an I-tent, my friend owns the Intergal designs. Mine is WAY more water proof, breathable and durable. I'll say it worth an extra $150. I'm not totally happy with it though, I barley use it any more now that I got my VE-25 as it is much more stable in high winds. For summer I use my Slickrock (2 man, just under 4 pounds!) and it's Amazing!! I am Dr. Jumar, I like my tents "Jug with Jumars" Jeremy

I'd have to say go with the Integral Designs. I've owned an MK1 XL for 4 years now and am very pleased with it. I liked the heavy floor, larger door and optional vestibule. My buddy owns a bibler and likes mine more. I've got nothing bad to say about Bibler, just a positive thumbs up for Integral Designs. Very well crafted!
