The best bar ive tasted was the power bar (peanut butter). Its not great but its better than some. Anyways, I look at things like granola bars. Those are good and healthy. For carbs and stuff i take powerdrinks. Not powerade or gatorade. I mean real power drinks. I take UltraFuel. Its not like creatine and will not hurt your body. Its full of water soluble nutrients and carbs. It really helps, im telling you. You can find it at GNC. You can get a tub of it for 20$ which is cheap.

I personally like the power bar Harvest Dipped deals they have a layer of yogurt and some icyn' stuff pretty tasty. I'm not to keen on the gel stuff but in cold weather it does go good with some hot choclate, specially the vanilla, better than tryin to eat some brick hard bar that almost bust your teeth

I like Cliff Bars (especially the peanut butter ones) and I drink Cytomax. I can't take bars that have any milk powder in them (a lot of the protein rich bars seem to have this; I am lactose intolerant).

i hate most all the bars but like the orange goo mixed in my morning cup of tea when im camping. i used to laugh at the people that used that stuff, but i noticed a substantial difference in my energy level on my mountaineering trips, so now im a believer

Cliff bars are the best I think. Apple cherry cranberry, carrot cake, all the peanut butter ones and cookies n cream are good! Bring them on long day routes and thats all you need.

cliff bar's caffeinated orange/choco bar and the mint bar are tasty. i also favor gatorade fierce melon and starfruit flavors (especially on sale). superficially, i think chunky monkey trail mix is a pretty good name (by trader joe). (at least i think that's the name)

I know a commercial fisherman who puts "glass" into his coffee. He stays awake for three days, easy. Don't know if it's illegal, but John is a pretty wacky guy. Hauls lines for hours at a time. And talks about schnitt that nobody's ever heard about, or cares. I have no idea where he buys his "glass".

You can't beat a Cliff bar they taste great. The supermarket near my house stocked them for a while and no one bought them except me so they discontinued them and sold the stock off a 50 cents(aus) each. (25c(US)) I bought them all and still didn't get sick of them.

Cliff and Luna bars are the best. They taste great are low calorie andare VEGAN! BTW, the PowerBars are colored with cruched beetles. So, any blue color is from the extract of insects. The woman who runs the health food store that I shop at is a chemical engineer. After reading the ingred. of a powerbar, she called the company. They were a bit evasive with their answer but eventually told that the chemical compound that she couldn't indentify was indeed beetles.

Ahh ya gotta love the good 'ole Power Bars!! Those things might have a few that taste bad to most but as for me I love them! I think that in any case of the "enegry bars" one must find on that works for them. But I would say to try them all at least once despite the little notes that say "for women" or whatever. But my personal favorite is the Vanillia Crunch Power Bar! And if you are looking for a quick buzz that is not good for your but it gets you going. Get a can of 'RedBull' and follow it down with a liter of Mtn Dew! It works but I would not sugjest it for use all the time. I have also found ones called 'Cheetah Bars' I think you can get them at thier website cheetahbars.com. They did how ever give me horrible gas! So be warned they might do the same for you! peanut butter chocolate power bars. i can't find them anywhere. the plain peanut butter ones are good though. when i go snowboarding i can ride all day on a power bar and something to drink they're my main source of nutrition when im busy climbing or riding or something. but hey-some people hate them whatever Jenna [ This Message was edited by: sugarbaby on 2002-04-03 12:42 ] [ This Message was edited by: sugarbaby on 2002-04-03 12:43 ]

i have to give my two cents here: first off, please dont ever drink Red Bull. Im not going to even go into detail what it does to you, I posted in another forum, I think "SOBE" by metoliusmuntchkin about how bad Red Bull is. It'll give you the energy you think need, for about 5 minutes.... My special food. homemade trail mix minus the m&m's (sometimes ) , Ant's on a log (celery with peanut butter, and RAISINS) and cheaporade to wash it down. I try (keyword -try ) to eat non-commercial things, cuz the way I figure, the best things in life to eat are already out there.

I just came back from MEC with a shiznit load of Clif bars in all sorts of exciting flavours I've never tried before. I find the Clif Bars (Choco-Almond Fudge and Mocca) taste better than Power Bars or Power Bar Harvests. Though I prefer Power Gel to Clifs version. I find with clifs version I get sugar shakes. With Power Goo I get clean burning energy without feeling like I just sucked a cane dry. The most important thing I've found with the goo is to drink alot of water. They're not kidding when they say it on the package. It seems to absorb faster into the system. I usually eat a bar before I climb, then if I need it, some goo half way through the day. Keeps ya going like nobody's business

luna bars are the only energy bars that taste good, but they are all too expensive. just eat some tang in powder form, or a snikers bar; they're just as good.

Hey guys, it's "Clif" bar. One 'f'. I really like Clif bars. I don't think they SHOULD taste like candy, so I like the cranberry apple ones, and I admit to liking the mint ice ones, though I'm not sure I want the extra caffine.
