Hopefully the rain will hold off until Mon. you know how weather forcasts are in CO. Usually can't tell for sure until the day before or the day of.

That's not a forecasting problem unique to Colorado, it is the very nature of weather forecasting. It aint worth much past a day.

,

Unfortunately, I'd have to agree. I was a weather guy in the Navy Reserve. You should see all of the ASOS errors. :) It's better than having no system at all but the ASOS weather should always be augmented by a human to put a real world view on the synthetic eye. :)

It was pretty funny to see our forecasters get upset when they had a "Busted" forecast. IRATE! Man - it was funny. I'd just ask them if they'd like me to get them some more coffee. :) Go take my Obs and go home on time. :)

I'm in town this weekend. If the weather rock is dry and warm - I'm more apt to climb. I may also go for a mountain bike ride and/or a hike. If it is wet and/or cold, I'm going to the Macchu Picou(sp) exhibit along with many other assorted indoor activities.

I'm with Zozo - I'd like to see our weekends remain 50/50 trad/sport.

Talk to you all later,

JD

Im not panicking over the weather, just passing on what I heard. Today was supposed to in the 70's and sunny and it sucked all day.

Shelf road is about 45 minuets from the springs. I heard something awhile ago about some road closures we might need to look into.

To put the pics in the thread they need to be on a server somewhere, then you just use an image tag to embed them in the thread using the IMG tag above the window where you type. Dont forget to close the tag however.. If you dont have accsess to a server you can email them to me and Iwill put them on my server. I have a folder on there for climbing pics.

Well I did not read through all the messages in this post, but figured this would be a good spot to look for some denver area climbers.

I'll be moving to Denver in mid may and will be looking to find some people to climb (and go drinking) with. I have been climbing over 10 years and have experience with a little bit of everything (aid, ice, mountaineering, trad, sport, alpine...). Im looking to find some people who would like to do some all day moderates up in RMNP as well as anygood multipitch in the front range. I have been out of things a bit the last couple years so im rusty but I'll be able to get back up to speed pretty quick hopefully.

Im all about being safe and having fun more than anything else, so if anyones interested send me a PM or drop me a line here.

Later,
Matt

Another big thanks to Jeremy and Kyle for taking the time to climb with a complete n00b. I greatly appreciate your patience and help. I know it sucks to be stuck with the new guy sometimes, but your attitude made it far more likely that I'll keep going out there, and plugging up the already crowded routes in the future.

Was that you following Boulder Direct with 4 pairs of shoes hanging off you?! That was funny as heck, I hope someone got a picture of that! I didnt realize that was you.

I was going to, but it's raining now. The rock will be awfully slick. Is anyone still planning to go today? Would you rather go tomorrow (Friday) instead--same time, same place?

Yes, that was me. We were planning on walking off the top of the route, but Jeremy decided the second pitch was rubbish and we ended up repelling down. Ah well. Seems fun was had by all then.

Ditto for the assessment of Bob's climbing capabilities. However, I'll leave the structural comparisons to members of the feminine persuasion. Jeez, skibs, take a cold shower.

So, Tim, Coclimber, Kyle and all. Sat at shelf seems good considering the weather. I would hate to get 3 pitches up Lumpy and have to deproach.
Maybe Lumpy Sunday, weather dependent?

There's a guy over on the climbingboulder yahoo list that found some dropped gear on Wind Tower somewhere. Anyone lose something?

Sure thing. Shelf for Saturday sounds good to me. It's been quite a while since I have been there, so I'll need to figure out how to get there. Any suggestions on a meeting place and time? Martha, you going to stay in CO Springs for the weekend?

Larry brought up a good point yesterday, since the rain isnt supposed to start until afternoon Sat. If we left earlier we would probably be able to get somthing in before it starts (if it even rains).

7:30 or 8:00 at the gym ok with the springs people?

Mike and Heather i'm glad I got to meet and climb with you yesterday, as the days get longer we'll be able to get in more climbs. I'll bring a head-lamp next time as well so we can all do some night climbing like Larry
(just kidding).

Dave, what time are you going to show up at the gym tonight?

8:00 at the gym tommorow morning is good. Im going to be at the gym tonight around 4:30 or 5:00. I woke up last night with this unbeleivable pain in my shoulder, I think I slept on it wrong. Im hoping it will work itself loose by tonight or at least tommorow.

Im going to have a "Burning Man" type gathering to put my running shoes out of their misery, and everone else's - details to come!
