i know how to use my feet, most of the time. . unfortunatly is do not know what to do with them on Extreme overhanging roughts. I'm finding that they more or less fall off the rock and pull me off. i just don't know how to make the damn things usefull, or at least get them out of the way. PLEASE...HELP HELP HELP

Overhangs, at least for me, are pretty difficult. There are some things to keep in mind. 1. Use your feet and push with your legs. This raises your stomach and helps to take some weight off of your hands and arms. 2. Sometimes, you will need to let go with your feet and hold with your hands only. 3. Sometimes, you will need to let your feet go, change direction, and put your feet back on the rock. The foot and hand holds are sometimes perpendicular to the way you started out from so you may need to rotate your way of travel by 90 degrees. Ive done this only once to think of. 4. Opposition of forces is key. If your pushing hard with your feet, your going to want to hold the rock with an undercling, or have a nice jug to hold on to. If your holding on the rock with thumbs inward on both hands and you push with your feet, you have 2 forces going the same way and you will fall off. Try to push your feet and have at least one hand holding a nice solid hold or an undercling. 5. If there is a crack, try to wedge your foot in it. 6. If possible, make ready use of toe and heel hooks. If I think of any more ill tell you

Thanx man i think i'll tri this stuff in the gym first, in that cave, when no ones looking, and i have a nice thick pad under me.

try using dropknee on two opposite footholds. sometimes it helps
