In my short time on this site, I have noticed some excellent photography by several members. Orangeoverhang, spike, and jmlangford are some of my favorites. jmlangford has some awesome special effects shots and his landscapes are AWESOME!!! I think that this bouldering shot is outstanding but apparently someone who is too chicken to comment on it thinks the picture sucks...so, if you have the balls (or ovaries)tell us why you rated this picture so LOW!!!

I was going through the pics this morning and it went from a low 9, I think 9.35 or so to a 7.5 in one vote....someone hammered it. I am glad to see that it is going back up though.

I didn't vote on it, but I don't think that one shot is particularly good. That block of rock is too . . . dominant.

I'm not going to vote... but I agree with Mac, not so much about the blockiness, but that it isn't that great of a pic (but I'm not the nameless, faceless, detractor who slammed you)

Yeah, what Maculated and Krusty said. I'm not the slammer either though.

Bob, I appreciate the kudos but I really didn't need this exposure...pun intended! I complained about the same thing happening to one of my pics when I was new to this site and boy did I get reemed! I learned my lesson! I appreciate the critical comments from you all. I can see I have a long way to go.

Jm,
I agree with climbchic, being a history (the story is the important part to me) buff, I look forward to seeing you and (especially) your dad's latest pics, I just love 'em!!!

Your dad was doing cutting edge stuff!!!

Bob, no offense intended. You're probably sentimentally attached to the moment in the photo, more than the image. I've done that with old racing pics, a crappy photo of a win, beats an awesome shot of second place every time, in my memory.

I think that it is a great shot, the scan could have been a little better, but people hammering it must have a vendetta against JODY. I personally like having the rock in the pic, gives it a sense of scale, and shows that LOOOOONG, razor edge that he is climbing. A close up shot would have reduced it to what could have been 1 foot off the deck, not WAY above his spotter with NO positive holds. I tried this problem in 1986, and got maybe five feet off the ground. It is harder than it looks, and you need to see the rock to appreciate that. Definately not worth a ONE vote though. Nice pic, as usual JM.
