Ive been wanted to climb eagle lake butress for some time now and plan to do it this summer. Just wanted to know if most of the snow is gone from the area. Also wanted to know if the climbing is really worth the walking. Thanks.

It's snow free. It's well worth the hike. If you're doing the 5.7 route, there is only 1 technical pitch which is the first. After that you can can cruise to the summit. I normally bring a set of stoppers, some big hexes, and some finger to hand size cams. You can make it up there with light packs in about an hour, it's about a half day car to car moving leisurly. Cross the Creek right at the point it exits Eagle Lake. Skirt around the lake and follow the obvious talus gulley up. Once even in elevation(or close to) the buttress cruise over to it. The descent envolves a bit of exposed downclimbing, but it's all there. Definetly climb it, it's like a mini sierra route up at the lake. Cheers and have fun! P.S. Nice quote. Sadah Teh. You ain't come one, but many time tainy!
