I am headed to Rome in October and want to do some via ferrata routes in the Dolomites. Time is limited so I'm looking for the best route selection with easy access and prefarably a refugio with good wine below. OK, the above post does sound a bit stereotypical American - McDolomites. At any rate, any beta is greatly appreciated. I've never been to Italy so but have bought a few Dolomite and via ferrata books. If you'd like to share a rope, I'd be thrilled to get off the iron and onto real rock. Thanks, Jeff

October could be cold up in the Dolomiti, furthermore the "rifugi" are already close so you may have to carry your wine with you. Check this web-site out for some info about the vie ferrate: www.via-ferrata.de When you are around give me a ring and we may hook up for few climb in the Dolomiti or in Arco. ciao ciao Matteo
