I could be persuaded to help out fairly easily, especially with dinner-type activities, but I will not be available to set up TRs for people like last year. T

In reply to: Anyone interested in repeating last year's event? I am thinking of organzing a gathering the weekend of October 8-10th. The same format as last year; rent the entire New Paltz hostel for Saturday night, climb all day Saturday and Sunday. Community meal on Saturday night and Sunday morning. Your thoughts? Gail That's the busiest weekend of the year at the Gunks and probably not the best choice. Between leaf peepers, the Canadian Holiday, and Columbus Day, the Gunks get overrun. I suggest you pick another weekend. Take it from a Gunks vet, you do not want to be there that weekend if you have a choice. TS

Gail, Sure, with that kind of notice would I hope to be able to make arrangements! I will offer to pick up at least one out-of-towner from Phila, or Newark if I can work it out. Travelers might want to try fares to NY too though. We have time to work things out. Mark

Hi Gail, I will be interested in the event, and able to help out with some things, too. I wasn't climbing last year, so don't know what's needed, but as things get closer, I'm sure there will be plenty to do. Terrie

Its official...we have rented the entired New Paltz Hostel the weekend of October 15-17 2004. There are beds for 13 more attendees. Please let me know if you would like a bed at the hostel so I can put you on the list. Beds at the hostel are on a first come-first serve basis...so let me know ASAP. Like last year, we will host a community dinner on saturday night and a breakfast on Sunday morning. Even if you choose to camp you are welcome to attend the community meals. Fees, logistics etc will be provided later. Gail

Hey Dave, wanna partner up? I come with my own nut tool. :) I'll be there, Gail, reserve me a spot in the hostel. And I'll take part in one of the community meals, I'm pretty open to whichever needs to be helped with. K.

I'm very new to outdoor climbing, but I'd like to learn from some more experienced climbers. I can cook if anyone's willing to shepherd a rock noob :) -Joe
