I prefer falling with a rope rather than hoping to fall onto a b-pad.

Well I climb more than bouldering. But as long as they set up a neat challenge then its all good! But I try to even it out a bit! Rock on!

In the gym, I prefer bouldering, but there's nothing like really getting to the TOP of something when you've spent the time to saddle up and get out to the real rocks to REALLY make my day.

lead all the way. the reward you get at the top is amazing. The views are short of a million dollars. Plus, there is a real sense of achievment when you step uip the the top of the climb and look down.

When I compete I prefer bouldering... because its more exciting and you have more chances (falling off and getting back on the wall) than high wall. I also like bouldering on natural and artificial. However Climbing on natural is much better than artificial, for me. I don't know why but i am sure its the same to most of you.

I think it depends on what easiest to get to. For me its easier to hit the boulders after work. You know finish your day grab a snack and go bouldering. On weekends I'd rather do some sport climbs. I have more time to play with gear, do orad trips and hike around. Whats the use in burning daylight after work just getting to the crag.

I dont do much bouldering, but I do know that I would much rather sport climb, I think it pushes me more, and I figure I bought the rope and all the draws so I might as well use them. Arete

when i first started climbing, i didnt really see the point of bouldering, however, i go to the gym 3-4 times a week and havnt tied into a rope in over a month, i just boulder, i love it. dont have to climb to the top of the wall just to get to the crux. As for the question... which joemor avoided..... i prefer sport routes outdoos, only because i find it more auxilerating. Bouldering is good fun outdoors to, although i havnt done a lot.

Not having done much bouldering, I'd have to say I prefer sport climbing, or really any climbing at all, not that bouldering isn't climbing... Guess I just don't see the point in bouldering, aside from some intense training. Maybe someday I'll get into it. -T

I prefer roped climbing to bouldering now. I have been injured twice while climbing. Once with pre-achilles bursitis in my heel and the other with a bruised knee. Both of these injuries were while bouldering. I know sport lead can be just as dangerous, but so far I have had much better luck with it than bouldering.

although I boulder more than climb (as in with rope), but I still think climbing vertically gives me more thrill than horizontally or etc etc..... at least it doesn't look so stupid when u fall...

Love 'em both. I tend to rope up more than boulder. I also tend to find at least one day a week to go out and do some bouldering. I think doing some "highballs" that scare you help train your leading ability.

I love both climbing and bouldering. We have a great little bouldering crag on the beach which makes for some nice evenings and try to get out to the walls on the weekend when I have more time. The important thing is to climb (trad, sport, or boulder).
