I went last summer. Freaking AMAZING climbing. I went to Ruth Lake and it was just fantastic. Aside from the thunderstorms... Theres a ton of sport. I dont remember how many draws I took. You'd definitely be safe with a dozen, though. I highly recommend buying the guidebook. It's great. -Tristan

Thanks, Mrtristan. We are headed up there tomorrow morning. Looking forward to it. Btw, is swimming allowed, or is the area a watershed?

I picked up a copy of it yesterday and I went out there today. We wanted to head to the Jax Wall, but the guide's directions were horrible. It pointed us across a fast moving stream and then up a really steep, chossy bank. Instead of starting out on an epic, we decided to check out the Ruth Lake area. The directions to the parking lot were great, except they said that the trail from there went east to the wall, except that it actually went west. It also neglected to mention that the walls were on top of a really large choss pile which I think was at least a 5.5.... Despite my bitching, the route topos were great. We're heading back tomorrow, and hopefully we'll have better luck with the guide then. jim
