I'm looking to take a trip over the 4th of july or any long weekend in July, but I'm not sure where else to go besides Austin. I am currently living in houston and I'm trying to find some good climbing that is "reasonably" (ie 4-6 hours) away.

That's awesome help, but I'm acutally looking for something outside of TX. I guess I should have been a bit more specific. But those are great places for 1-2 day trips :)

can you get out of Texas in 4-6 hours?

If you have the time to get to Arkansas, I relly like Horseshoe Canyon Ranch.

It may be a little more than 6 hours, but the Wichita Mountain Wildlige refuge is always worth a road trip. Look it up in the route database, its the mecca for oklahoma climbers. If you dont have the gear for trad, look real hard and youll be able to find some bolted routes
