The importance of breathing to stay relaxed (and alive, for that matter) has not been lost on me. However, I am curious as to the proper breathing pattern while in the motion of climbing. ie. When pulling with your hands or pushing with your feet: do you breathe in, breathe out, or hold your breath? Climbing isn't rhythmic enough to breathe in the manner you are describing. Some moves requiring a lot of core strength necessitate holding your breath during the move. Hard climbing will make you breathe like a freight train. On hard climbs, I find I have a little more endurance if I breathe a little more deeply than I fell like I need to. -Jay [ This Message was edited by: jt512 on 2002-05-01 15:17 ]
