Last time I checked, we don't pay people to add areas, so cut them some slack. Maybe eventually they will feel inclined or have the time to add the info. The way I see it, they are one step ahead of you when it comes to adding info about the area, since at least the started the entry. How much info have you contributed for Pedastel Rocks? Oh thats right, none. Why don't you go start asking around, gather up all the info, and then come back here and enter it? It is the same prospect the initial person who added the area is faced with

Don't get so uptight Aaron, they're from the midwest... if they actually were interested in climbing, they'd move. Therefore this is clearly a troll.

I will cut YOU some slack for nosing in where you probably don't belong. I have added plenty to the AR page, so I feel like I can express an opinion on the subject. Maybe he will add more info, but the track record of people coming back with more info is pretty much nonexistent here. Perhaps I have checked into this area and concluded, as have others, that there is simply not anything worth adding. So if this person has found some area that is hidden way back in the woods or otherwise difficult to access then perhaps do everyone a favor and add some information. If it is sensitive access then don't add anything. I could add hundreds of areas just like the one in question, but they are just not worth mentioning. I guess that the bottom line is that I want the info on here to be the best possible because I feel like this site is a great resource and a nerve has been touched with me b/c this is all too frequent and saying nothing has not accomplished much, if anything.

Ouch. Touchy people. Here's some info for all those dying not to look on any free map of Arkansas to see for themselves. P-rock is off of Hwy 16. Take Hwy 7 past the turnoff for 123 and head south for a few more miles until Hwy 16 cuts to the left and 123 cuts to the right. Take a left and follow this curvy gravel/asphalt "highway" for a few miles until you get to a trailhead and parking area on the right. There are two trails. One goes to Kings bluff and the other to Pedastal rock. It's more like pedastal rocks. There are several free-standing columns just off from the bluff as you hike this trail. Note on climbing: the rock here is terrible. It is crumbly, gritty sandstone. I have toproped some stuff here before, but usually end up pulling half the bluff down on the way up. I have done some bouldering here, and I think there is quite a bit of potential, but it is a freakin' long drive from my place in Springdale, so I haven't done much. Last I heard, the climbing issue is a little sensative, so don't go out there and get hurt. One last thing: if you are below the main bluff line, there is a massive detached block with some decent rock on it. There are actually a couple/few sport climbs on this, but I have no idea who set them. Some of the anchors have been there for over 5 years (when I first saw them).

I hiked the area yestersay and scoped out the two bolted lines on this detached pillar. They both look pretty decent with anchors that are not ancient. One line goes up the arete, the other up the face. Anyone got more info?
