Hi Mike,
The N Face offers several possibilities for routes, but getting there is an epic. The shortest approach is via the Penrose Park ATV road, which starts in Story. The hike from the end of the road is about 5 miles and is a little bushwhacky. The climbing is pretty easy, if you're good at routefinding, you might not even be climbing 4th class.

Do you have the Bonney guide?

Email me if you need info, or call me at 307 332 0480

Hi Mike,

I just climbed Black Tooth in August... the approach from the south is much easier, only about 8-10 miles into Wilderness Basin, a beautiful place. I climbed the complete SW ridge starting from the pass designated '105' in the Bonney guide, a very long climb mostly on good rock (but with some bad stuff on one tower of the black diabase), about 5.6 or so but mostly class 3. The summit tower is pretty chossy too, about 5.4. A very nice route overall. I descended the gully that heads between the last tower and the summit block, which surprisingly was not all that bad... it looks absolutely awful from below!

I found a copy in a used bookstore in Jackson... "Field Guide to the Bighorn Mountains", Bonney and Bonney. It's out of print, you might try some place like Chessler...
