I know your told to use 1" tubular webbing, but i recently saw a spool of 1.5". Would the 1.5" be easier to learn on? or does it not really matter

By the way (excuse me: BTW), does anyone know if there's a rating scale for slacklines? I wanna know how good I am.

Clearly not good enough to know better.
To the question at hand: In theory, it would make it easier, but the great equalizer is the tension in the line. The tighter the line, the easier it tends to be. Exceptions abound, but that's the broad generalization. However, if you spend a lot of time on a really loose line, switching to a tighter line will be difficult.

I agree, for when you're first beginning.

I agree with that too, I've experienced this.
I have walked 1" webbing and one time a smaller size. to tell you the truth I didn't really notice the difference.
I think walking in flat bottomed shoes helps you at first too - like chacos or skate shoes.

If there's not a rating scale, how can we possibly know whether or not to like ourselves? You mean it's enough to have fun?

I have a slackline that I made out of 1 1/4" harness webbing. I find that it make doing air tricks easier. I know Scott Balcom has walked a highline on 2" webbing. So yes I think 1 1/2" webbing would be a little easier.

Yes, it is enough to have fun. At this point in my slacklining days...im happy just to make it halfway accross the line. Im not trying to do any fancy tricks or anything like that. I would just like to be able to make it the full length of the line (aprox. 28 feet in my case).
