Where is the greatest Sport destination in the States? By greatest, I mean sheer quantity of routes, and quality of rock. [ This Message was edited by: mountainrat on 2002-05-07 17:50 ]

Virgin River gorge for sheer numbers. Red River Gorge is pretty expansive too. Colorado has tons of sport climbing. Shelf Road has probably the highest quantity. Wyoming has plenty of sport climbing and room for plenty more.

From sizzlechest: Quote: joshua tree?? it's a raging slab and what isn't a slab is sooo grainy and painfull that's it's impossible to put in multiple burns What too painful? J-Tree has to be one of my all-time favorite places. The routes are hard, the sun is hot, and it makes you STRONG. Bring tape for the crack climbs, and lots of neosporin for your knees if you fall. Other than that, get a tan, and have fun! Scott
