so, i've been meaning to buy the guide book to AmericanForkCanyon and RockCanyon but i keep hearing that there is a new one coming out soon. i dont' wanna go spend 25 bucks just to see a new one with 50 other routes in it a month later. any knowledge of this would be great.

I heard one was comming out this winter, but it wasn't for sure. Ask Mountain Works in Provo. One of the guys that works there is the one putting together the new guide. I forked over $27 for the AF guidebook a month ago, then found out about the new one this winter...SUCK! Oh well, I couldn't see myself waiting that long anyway.

yeah, its driving me crazy cause me and my buddies are restricted to walls that we know real well, or depending on other people to point us in the right direction. it seems like a book like that should be sold for like 12 bucks, but people buy em at 30, so i guess they're making bank

I just talked to Christian Knight at Mountain Works about the new guid book. He can't say when it will be out for sure, but there is enough work to be done that he dosen't feel it will be out before Thanks Giving and maybe not till next spring.

Chances are you will get you $25.00 worth out of your recent pruchase.

waiting for the new guide is definatly going to be you'r best bet. The original A.F. guide has gone out of print again :( {no word on re-prints} but I have seen some at REI. But before you part ways with your cash, consider this... the Curse wall, A.F. canyon, has approx 80 new routs from 5.6 to 5.14c, Trad and Rad  I would expect the new guide to be available in time for spring climbing, and be prepared, cause alot has happened since 1995. 8^)
