I am here in Newcastle to study for a semester, so I will be around until December.
I am looking to hop on as much rock as possible, while I am here. I have been to several gyms, partially due to weather. I tried to hit up Sydney bouldering twice, but got rained out. Hopefully this week.
If anyone is looking for someone to climb with, or would like to show my around I would appreciate it.

You should try to hit Nowra in the next couple of months, winter is prime time there. Excellent sport climbing and really good bouldering too if that is what you are into, although most of it is really hard. Only problem is its about 4 hours one way from Newcastle, and you have to go straight through Sydney. Blue Mountains is closer but you have to pick your days and crags this time of year to avoid freezing. Blueys will be perfect in a couple of months. We do regular trips to both areas so send me a pm and we might be able to sort you out. Actually going to Nowra this Saturday if you are interested.
Apparently there is bugger all climbing around Newcastle, although I think one crag has been recently rebolted and is OK, have a look on cragx.org. Hopefully you are not an axe murderer, there is absolutely no info on your profile.

i know a lot of climbers in newcastle. there is definitely some worthwhile climbing up there. most of them, however, suck it up and go to nowra or blueys as they will be doing this weekend.
As hipdos suggested check out cragx.org forum and ask for a climbing partner there.
