I think we need a safety measure built in so when you accidentally click the delete button, all is not lost in a moment. It would sure suck if "theoretically" someone were to be stupid and accidentally react subconsciously and click the button in the usual place for the "submit" button at the bottom of the page on a route. On a completely unrelated note, some idiot just deleted a route called "Butt Crack" at Pivot Point AK. I managed to click back and... I mean, I had the description somehow copied for some reason, and managed to re-add the route, but it had a bunch of ascents with it previously. Is it possible for someone to get those back?

I think this would be a good idea, too; if nothing else, than to save certain Alaskan climbers (no current members of this site, of course) the embarassment of having to ask for a feature like this in the future... I'm just sayin'....

In reply to: In reply to: Any word on this? Yes? Wait for RDB2.0? :? Where's my beer? I might be out there in November. I'll bring beer on coldclimb's behalf.

ps. the eventual (as in "sometime this week I hope to have it implemented, with a rollout in the not too distant future") solution is to use integrity constraints in the database itself so that an item referenced by other items (eg. Ascent records) cannot be deleted until the ascents are removed. It's a pretty straightforward way to avoid leaving holes all over the place and we've already started to do this with friends, partners, tick lists, etc.
