I believe gecko_girl is referring to the Youth Worlds, being held this year in Edinborough, Scotland. You must be 14 years old to compete and qualify through your country's Nationals. Gecko_girl, are your initials TH? I think I know who you are; I was one of the judges at Nationals in Sacramento. You will get to Worlds next year.

Just one of the judges standing down on the floor and filling in scorecards for the Juniors. I was Head Judge for the Adult finals though.

i am i made it for speed and missed out on difficulty by .07 to simon benkert. it kinda sucked that it was that close, but who cares. speed climbing is a little bit more relaxed and wont be as stressful.

In reply to: :? the bald one(no offense) with the microphone, or the guy who gave the rules speech? Edge would be the old fat one - as opposed to the handsome old one with a broken leg.

In reply to: Climbing this weekend Eric? I'll be on Vertigo tomorrow. 8^) This weekend is roughly the 29th anniversary of my one and only ascent of Vertigo - those were the days - attacking the Half Moon with a #11 hex. I made it but it was pretty exciting for a few seconds when I decided to switch from right side in to left. I am still hobbling pretty badly - get some CT scan results next week although the old school orthopedic that I got through my cheapo health insurance is pushing me to get an ankle fusion. Not going to happen for awhile. If I pick just the right climb (no small feet or high steps to the right) I can still sort of climb. Enough whining. The kids are amped up to go to Jayme's comp Friday night (or Nika is anyway - she is always figuring the odds and if Meg can't get there then she'll think she has a better shot. Maybe I should send Zeb or Vasya to fetch Meg down to it - that would steam Nika). Might try to hobble up to Rumney on Sunday - I can do a few things there or at least keep the dog company and hold the rope for the kids.
