Does anyone know whether there is a bus or a train from Laragne to Orpierre? Is there any form of public transportation to Orpierre? Thanks!

Nope, only your thumb or a rental will get you there. There is a bus to the head of the road leading to Orpierre at the intersection with the main drag (forget the road number). It's about a 6 mile walk or hitch to the town from there.
Once you get to Orpierre, getting to the cliff is doable w/o wheels. You can walk (although steep to some sections) or hitch up to the usual parking areas, depending on where you climb.
