4 p.m. on Tuesday and nobody has posted up about the AZ get-together? Y'all still too hungover or sore? :) I'm waiting for my photos to do more of a photo essay post, but here's some highlights, in no particular order: 1) Curt does not like the Forks. 2) Ford needs to set up an altar to worship that yellow alien! 3) I wish I had BobD's photo equipment :( (and dude, that was a mullet, sorry!!) 4) I  the Wine Loft in downtown Flag 5) the bad news: the jeep's radiator grew a hole. the good news is: we bought a new radiator and then drove right to the crag. the bad news is: I paid for said radiator. yech. 6) did anybody else get stuck in the massive backup about an hour outside of Phoenix? The flaming semi accident that put traffic at a standstill for 2 hours (ok, not a complete standstill- we did cover 10 miles in those two hours) 7) the_fury is still cute, even if she does try to kill my men. 8) I got a goosing from at least 4 different people, but I did know most of them ;) Ed, you're welcome. 9) did you know it's possible to place 9 bomber pieces in 25 feet of crack? IT IS!!!!! 10) how many Jeffs were present? I lost count :) 11) can we do it again next year in Tucson?

addendum-dum 6) Left at 3/3:30 ~ stuck btwn Flag & Sedona for a hr. while they hauled RV house-trailer back up onto the road. 2 additional slowdowns caused by Hoopies (Ohio slg for H.Patrol) gathered by the side of the road, full lights displayed, perhaps discussing the next donut meet, no accidents or problems in view. Note to self.. 1) do not stop for breakfast. 2) do not stop for the Art Fest. 3) bring plenty of snacks & reading materials if planning to leave in the afternoon last day of holiday wkend.

Sheesh. I left Flag at about quarter after 7, and it still took about 7 hours to get home. Of course, the 10 miles in question were all uphill... good thing that radiator was just a few hours old. I've never seen so many overheated cars pulled over. Plus a few redneck-mobiles pulled over just to wander around, walk their dogs, and shoot the shit on the shoulder at 9 p.m. (very smart). I've been trying to figure out what that particular accident was all about. It was on the 17 south, and by the time we passed the scene, all that was left was the charred remains of a semi. Was it in any Phoenix papers?

Good times.. things that stand out in my memory: ~ Ripping my right middle finger on the third climb of the weekend, Friday. Spent the rest of the weekend trying to keep it from getting infected. Still looks nasty. ~ The Fury barking at me before I even got out of my Jeep. ~ Fire... fire. ~ The line to do Mr Slate at The Pit Saturday... ~ 5 Jeff's... ~ Trying to set up a slackline between my Jeep and Ivan's truck. ~ Superb trad lines at the Overlook on Sunday. ~ Drinking lots on Saturday. ~ Many, many new friends. ~ Learning the three phrases every man needs to know to please a woman. ~ Lisa, my Queen. I exist to serve her. ;) ~ Making certain to grab some French Vanilla creamers so Amanda could have coffee in the morning (or afternoon, whenever she decided to crawl out of her tent.) ~ 4 hour drive home on Monday.

Hey Now! Highlights? Sure. And I don't mean the ones in my purty hair! (1) Gravity! What a bring down. (2) Fiscal darwinism, an interesting counterpoint to the modern world. (3) The Fury wuvs her Unka Ford. (4) Cort, Phoenix, and Mira do too. (5) I autographed a book. (Don't tell my agent!) (6) Soooo many hottie climber chicks. (and all of 'em crank harder than Me!) (7) The wisdom of a cowboy named Reno. (8) Yellow Aliens are cam-a-licious. Can I marry mine? (9) Almost got to meet Gawd. (I hope they're ready!) (10) I got my nipple tweaked by Hillary! (wooohoooo!) And the lesson we all took home from the forks... You can question my skill, doubt my judgment but you cannot disavow the fact... Unkie Ford has sac! (can I say that here?) wait for Hillary's pics... they ought to be entertaining. ---Free-fall-Ford---

Oooh yeah. I tweaked your nippies too! Damn, Ford, I almost had a shot at inheriting the Sandibles. HEY, something just now dawned on me. I STILL didn't climb with Erica! d'oh! I KNEW something was lacking! :( ...Though I did see Jay climb trad. But I didn't rap in time to get pics of him, so I guess I can't really prove it ;)

In reply to: I think it was my giant Arizona beer that sent him over the edge. No, it was trying to keep up with Curt, BVB, Andy and me. Andy was the next one to go south and looked worst than the above picture. Seems funny that the younger guys in our group couldn't hang. Kid's today...

And i still managed to chuff at the draw all day sunday :) BTW - thanks to the bobs and curt for an effen rad time bouldering.

In reply to: bobd, did you convert any republicans?! Sure did. Just ask Curt! His mom is now voting for Mr. Kerry. After meeting his mom you have to wonder about Curt? She is like saint and he is like Attila-the-Hun. Go figure?

Ahhh, the memories...well, that is if I could remember half the weekend. I had just as much fun this time as I did last year. Here's to Erica and Ivan! Well, maybe just Ivan.. Heh, jus kidding Erica. Seriously though, I got to see some cool folks I met last year, as well as meet a whole new crop of crazy people from AZ and beyond. Things I do remember: Tree's burn slow Cort is attractive to both sexes.. Pallets burn fast! I can drink too much to Boulder well the next day.. Priest Draw is rad aaaaaaaaaand Curt's Cask Strength Scotch (say that five times fast..) was pretty damn good. It led to a nice lunchtime buzz on Saturday... Here's to the next trip. -Charles

In reply to: And i still managed to chuff at the draw all day sunday :) You sure about that Professor Sleepstillthree?? :P Pics and more to come. If you want the debauchery, follow bvb's link. Btw~I just saw Verm on the 101 on my way home from work. We pulled up next to him and I asked him what the hell he was doing down here (in PHX). He said "working!" Is that what they're calling it these days??

Chris-I do have to give you credit, I didn't think you would be able to move on Sunday morning. That was a great session on Saturday, glad to see a few folks were man-enough to show up for a good-old-fashion bouldering burn-off/session.
