I'm pretty new to climbing, and I would really like to get out more than I am right now. I'm currently living in Vermillion, going to school, and I was curious: are there any indoor climbing places even remotely close to where I am? If not, what can I do or where can I go to practice and build up my strength?

Any advice would be welcome!

Look up your local crags with the route finder at the top of the page.

I'd talk to some of the other climbers from S.D. I've PM'd basecamp a couple of times, seems swell enough, perhaps you can get together with him and climb. I believe he's located in S.F.

East river sucks for climbing. I climb at Palisades (near Garreston) and Blue Mounds (5 miles North of Luverne, MN). THere are no climbing gyms anywhere that I know of. It would be sweet if there were. If you are interested in climbing let me know, I try to go a couple weekends a month, but time is scarce now that I have started school at SDSU. Also, I'm from Sioux Falls and know quite a few people there I could hook you up with because they get out a lot more than I do, or at least recently.
