I'm pretty new to climbing, and I would really like to get out more than I am right now. I'm currently living in Vermillion, going to school, and I was curious: are there any indoor climbing places even remotely close to where I am? If not, what can I do or where can I go to practice and build up my strength? Any advice would be welcome! ~Tove

Look up your local crags with the route finder at the top of the page.

I'd talk to some of the other climbers from S.D. I've PM'd basecamp a couple of times, seems swell enough, perhaps you can get together with him and climb. I believe he's located in S.F. Ben

East river sucks for climbing. I climb at Palisades (near Garreston) and Blue Mounds (5 miles North of Luverne, MN). THere are no climbing gyms anywhere that I know of. It would be sweet if there were. If you are interested in climbing let me know, I try to go a couple weekends a month, but time is scarce now that I have started school at SDSU. Also, I'm from Sioux Falls and know quite a few people there I could hook you up with because they get out a lot more than I do, or at least recently.
