Hi Gang,
I have a Chouinard Piolet ice ax, circa 1972. It has the bamboo handle introduced in ’72, but doesn’t say Chouinard/Frost. It only says Chouinard. So my question is when did Tom Frost leave the partnership? I’m trying to date the ax. I know I had it when I went to college in 1975. So it’s probably ‘73 or ’74.

For the record, I found out from TF himself: it was 1975 that he left the Iron Works.
