Hey what do you guys all do to help your open grip stregnth? I know a strong open grip translates into a strong crimp and 1/2 crimp grip (not vice versa) so i would like to train this hand position further. Right now all i do are weighted fingertip pull ups over a 5/8 inch doorjam (my grip just got strong enough to use an open grip in conjunction with the weights on doorjams). Is there a way that is less stressful to tendons and the creaking doorjams around my house?

What I do sometimes is to climb on an overhanging wall (15-30degree), climbing at my onsight level with edges that vary from .75-1.5pad depth. I try climbing in the most controlled manner as possible. I basically train open hand and static movement in the same session I think the best thing for open hand is campusing using only three fingers. It is surprisingly harder to control the movement of the body.

one of the best ways i have heard of (didnt try it yet though, bu im going to) is to get a pullup bar, slide a piece of pvc tube over it and then do dead hangs/pull ups. the bigger the diamete, the more difficult the excercise. other options are slopers, hang and campus boards.
