Hey People,

Now, we're not talking dreams here, just what is your Ultimate climbing road trip. It can't be one you're planning, but rather trips you've done before, and maybe many times.

What is the climbing area, how far did you travel to get there, how long did it take to get there, what you like about the area, how long you stay there, what you take with you, and what makes it
YOUR ULTIMATE CLIMBING ROAD TRIP???

I wish I had some prizes to give away (sorry, I don't)

Started in Iowa. North Central Iowa. drove through Nebraska (that should say something about our determination! ) and wound up in Colorado. Camped at Golden Gate Canyon SP and climbed in Eldo, Flat Irons, and Boulder Canyon. It was amazing. I'm planning on doing it again.

I'm currently planning a trip to Thailand next January for my independent study that month. I'll let you know about that one! I'll have some pics for sure too!

Wow, I thought I'd get more people telling me about their Ultimate road trips.

Iclimbtoo, I totaly know what you mean about Nebraska... I may have to suffer that drive again and copy your trip; sounds fun...

Fiend, I'll get more info from you in a couple weeks... I think you are on you way to the Minnesota RC.com meeting at Blue Mounds SP with rrradam and i.karen.

As far as everyone else here at RC.com,

Ask Mark (fiend), he's climbing cross country with Karen and I, and spending 2 months at my house in SoCal, climbing full time all over California, for free.

Man, what I'll do for a vote of 10.

All my good roadtrips were familly vacations, like the time my mom, bro and I spent 7 weeks driving from Ontario, through Colorado, Utah, Vegas, California etc.
We only really climbed in Tahoe, but we hit several of the biggest crags in the US. Just didn't have any lead experience

i'd go to NH, pick up Jenny...then go to rumney, then the gunks, then yosemite, then i'd go climb El Torro, then down to Cerro Torre, then to Nepal doing Cho Oyu, then AmaDablam, then Everest, then to Pakistan and climb Nameless tower, then Broad Peak, then G1&G2, then to China and ski Muztagh Ata. Then to antartica and Trek into the South pole, then climb Vison Masiff, then make some FA of peaks there. Then home for a few months then repete it

Assuming I dont die first.

Besides, you're gonna go to Pakistan and climb Broad Peak instead of K2?????

Oh.... I 'spose you were trying to improve your "Q" rating... or was it to impress Jenny 'cause you read a book last week???

This opinion is somewhat biast (cause I just got home today) but, the trip to Skaha this past weekend was fantastic. The weather was perfect for 2 of the three days. The rock was beautiful. Three close encounters with rattlesnakes to keep us on our toes. And an all around great road trip with a lot of cool people along the way. Three stars!!!
